Game 1: Metro State 10,
CSU-Pueblo 2
Game 2: Metro State 13,
CSU-Pueblo 9
DENVER, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo displayed a fair amount of
season-opening jitters Saturday at Metro State, committing a total
of six errors in two losses to the Roadrunners.
The Pack committed three errors in each of the games Saturday,
leading to a crippling nine-run inning by the Roadrunners during
the fourth inning of their 10-2 win in game one. In game two,
Metro State scored at least one run in each inning, neutralizing an
admirable offensive display by the ThunderWolves and rendering the
Pack's nine runs to a moot point in a 13-9 loss.
The day wasn't without its bright spots - Desiree Carrillo
(Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) made in impact in her first
collegiate action, going 3-for-6 and smashing a homer in the 7th
inning of the day's second game. And catcher Bo Nuanez (Jr.,
Lafayette, Colo.) was incredibly solid, drawing four walks
and going 2-for-3 in official at bats.
The Pack, however, start 2009 with a stumble, bringing an 0-2
record into its second doubleheader of the weekend at Regis on
Sunday.
