The CSU-Pueblo Mens soccer team hosted the No. 16 Colorado Mines
Orediggers on Friday, losing 4-3, the first of a weekend
doubleheader.
Fresh off a big conference win at Mesa State on the road last
Sunday the Pack headed into today's game ready to play. "We
were ready since Monday afternoon," said head coach Roy
Stanley. Although a quick start from the Orediggers who took
an early 3-0 lead just 17 minutes into the game, quickly quieted
the Pack, only momentarily. Seven minutes after the
Orediggers third goal, the Pack scored a goal on a penalty kick by
Eric Andersen
(Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) who
later collected another goal in the 87th minute on yet another
pk kick, goals number 7 and 8 on the season. Robert
Kinsey (So., Denver,
Colo.) also scored when he received the ball on a
pass from Brenden Hughes
(Fr., Fort Collins, Colo.) kicking it right past
the diving goalkeeper.
The Pack had multiple opportunities staying in Oredigger
territory for alot of the game, outshooting Mines 15-9.
"Our guys continue to work hard offensively and our the
opportunity is there, Stanley said, we showed alot of patience but
the little mistakes and not playing a full 90-minute game is what
hurt us."
The T-Wolves will take one day off then will be right back on
Sunday when they play host to UCCS at Rawlings Complex, game time
scheduled for 1 pm.
