CSU-Pueblo shuts out Mesa State

CSU-Pueblo 1, Mesa State 0

Pueblo, Colo.---> CSU-Pueblo opened the final weekend of play on a high note, shutting out Mesa State 1-0 in RMAC play at Rawlings Complex.

The lone goal came in the 74th minute when Dylan Cook (Sr., Albuquerque, NM) took a ball that hit the post on a previous shot, and connected with the back end of the net, his fourth goal of the season.  Sean Fitzgerald (rSO., Fort Collins, Colo.) was credited with the assist.

The game was dominated by the Pack from the start, as they outshot the visiting Mavs 14-3.

Up to the time the goal was scored, the Pack was dominant in all aspects, with the back defenders pressuring the ball, not allowing the Mesa St. offense to pose much of a threat.

The Pack came to an advantage in the 82nd minute when Mesa was issued a red card.  There were also four yellow-cards issued to Mesa State players.

CSU-Pueblo will conclude the 2009 season on Sunday, Senior Day, in which they will honor the seven departing Pack seniors, and play host to #3 Fort Lewis, game time is at 12 pm.
