Fort Lewis 4, CSU-Pueblo 0
Durango, Colo. --- The CSU-Pueblo Men's soccer team traveled the
long trip down to Durango to play against host Fort Lewis, before
falling 4-0 to the always tough Skyhawks.
Early on in the game the Pack came out with "energy and
with several opportunities to score" said Men's head coach Roy
Stanley. Battling the cold temperatures on a brisk day in
Durango, the T-Wolves kept battling with a few "minor mistakes"
said Stanley.
With the opportunities there, the Pack was unable to execute any
type of threat in the first half as Fort Lewis built a 3-0
lead heading to the half.
The second half the T-Wolves defense became more solid in
holding the Skyhawks to just a lone goal, "Our guys showed class,
the hustle the showed I believe kept us ready for our next game"
"With the shot count at what it was, that does not reflect how
our guys played and with the opportunities that were there
throughout the game, and the energy our guys showed, we know we
will be ready for when they (Ft. Lewis) come to Pueblo," Stanley
said.
With the loss the Pack drops to 5-5 (1-4 RMAC) and will continue
on their Western slope trip north to take on the Mesa State
Mavericks on Sunday, game time scheduled for 3 pm.
