Massari Arena

Colorado State University Pueblo's Massari Arena is considered one of the finest basketball and indoor facilities in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and one of the top Division II arenas in the nation. 

Massari Arena was re-opened in 2008 following a a two-year, $12 million renovation that expanded not only the arena, but the Sam Jones Sports Center, which includes a wrestling room, aerobics room, strength-training facility, racquetball and squash courts, swimming facility, athletic department offices, and classrooms for the University's Exercise Science department.
 
Massari Arena seats 3,900 fans and is the home of CSU Pueblo's men's and women's basketball, wrestling and volleyball programs.  The arena includes one section of premium chair-back seating and a luxury box overlooking the arena, dubbed "The Wolf Pack Room"
 
Massari is also connected to CSU Pueblo Student Recreation Center, which includes two gymnasiums, a climbing wall, indoor running track, and access to racquetball courts, cardio/weight room, and more.  Membership to the Recreation Center is free for all CSU Pueblo full-time students.

In 2020, Massari Arena was renovated. CSU Pueblo installed a 55-foot video board, the largest in the RMAC. A new sound system and LED video tables along press were also installed, adding to the multimedia fan experience of Pack Basketball, Volleyball, and wrestling events. New curtains were added in the summer of 2020.

"Wolf Pack Room" V.I.P. and Corporate Party Box: Massari Arena offers groups and companies the opportunity to cheer on the ThunderWolves in style.  The suite is the perfect place to pamper guests in privacy, comfort and style. Suites are great for a celebration, to entertain business clients or to treat the family to that special get-together, all while enjoying the excitement of ThunderWolves basketball, wrestling or volleyball! 
 
History of Massari Arena: Massari Arena was originally constructed in 1971, and ever since, has housed some of the biggest crowds to watch indoor sporting events in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference history. CSU Pueblo boasts the RMAC men's basketball attendance record with 4,477 fans in 1992, and the RMAC wrestling record with 3,021 fans to watch a dual with Division-I Iowa on Feb. 14, 1992. 
 
Massari Arena has played host to the 1972 and 2024 NCAA Division II Western Regionals, the first-ever Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) College Division National Tournament in 1975, and two NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships.
 
The Massari Arena that emerged from the 2008 renovation was regarded as one of the finest basketball facilities in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference as well as the Rocky Mountain region.  Since the renovation, the facility has been the site of numerous state high school and regional events, ranging from the Colorado State Basketball Championships to a campaign rally in 2008 by Republican candidate, John McCain.
