Rawlings Field

Rawlings Field first opened in 1994, to usher in the creation of the women's soccer, baseball and softball programs at CSU Pueblo. The construction was made possible with a $1 million gift by Pueblo Chieftain publisher, Robert H. Rawlings, and earned the distinction of being the "best outdoor facility in the nation" by Athletic Management magazine. For his contribution, Rawlings was named the 1996 College Division donor of the year by the National Association of Athletic Development Directors.

The Pack opened the facility with a 14-9 win over Northern Colorado and never looked back. That season, CSU Pueblo (then University of Southern Colorado) defeated University of Nebraska, Brigham Young University and the University of Wyoming at Rawlings Field. Just two years into the stadium's creation, the Pack advanced to their first D-II College World Series in 1996.

In 2008, the baseball and softball complexes were fitted with synthetic turf backstops while the baseball facility added a synthetic turf infield, giving the ThunderWolf infielders the advantage of fielding the truest bounces in the RMAC.

A $4 million, two-phase renovation project began in 2020 to update Rawlings Field. Phase one renovations included new synthetic turf covering the entire turf, a new locker room, a new clubhouse, and new coaches offices. Additionally, the Rawlings Field updates included a brand new Daktronics scoreboard, a new outfield fence, a new speaker system. Fans at night games will be able to see better thanks to a new and improved lighting system for Rawlings Field.

In phase two of the renovations, a new indoor training facility will be built adjacent to Rawlings Field. This training facility will offer fields for all CSU Pueblo student-athletes to train on during the winter.
