Laguera recognized as RMAC Runner of the Week

RMAC RELEASE

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 19, 2018) - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doled out its weekly cross country awards Wednesday and named Colorado State University-Pueblo senior Marcelo Laguera (Chihuahua, Mexico) the RMAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Laguera clocked a time of 25:58.87 at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Invite Saturday, set at nearly 8,000 feet, to win his second 8K race of the young season. The senior won by 58 seconds. He was also victorious at the Colorado College Invite Sept. 8.

The ThunderWolves, who ranked No. 8 in today's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll, finished second in the race to host and No. 4 Western State Colorado University. This season the Pack have two runner-up finishes to two top five teams nationally.

Next up, the Pack men will race Oct. 6 at the Conference Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois, hosted by Lewis University.
