ALAMOSA, Colo. (October 24, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's and women's cross country teams competed for a conference title at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships Saturday. When the dust settled the Pack men's team placed seventh overall (204 points), while Pack women ranked eighth (228 points).
Derrick Williams (So., Columbia Falls, Mont.) posted the best time for the Pack men (25:23.7). Williams earned First Team All-RMAC honors for his 13th place finish.
Marcelo Laguera (Fr., Chihuahua, Mexico) claimed a spot on the Second Team All-RMAC with his 22nd place finish. Laguera crossed the line with a time of 25:49.2
Bailey Hughes (Jr., Bigfork, Mont.) led the Pack women with a 10th place finish and earned First Team All-RMAC. Hughes set a new personal record with a time of 22:19.8, shaving 11 seconds off of her previous best.
Miriam Roberts (So., Boulder, Colo.) also set a new PR with a time of 22:24.2. Roberts placed 11th, finishing just behind Hughes. She cut 12 seconds off of her previous best time to claim a spot on the First-Team All-RMAC.
The ThunderWolves will return to action Nov.7 to compete at the NCAA South Central Regional Meet in Canyon, Texas.
