PUEBLO, Colo. (September 18, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo cross country teams are set to race Saturday at the Colorado College Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Both teams are coming off a successful start to the season Sept. 11 at the Border Classic.
The race will be at North Monument Valley Park. The men's race begins at 9 a.m., followed by the women's race at 10 a.m.
The Pack women's teams is coming off a meet victory Sept. 11, while also touting the race winner, junior Bailey Hughes (Bigfork, Mont.). After winning the 4K with a time of 14:19.3, Hughes was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Runner of the Week. The Pack were the top vote getters outside the top 25 in the first edition of the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division II poll.
The men's team finished third at the Border Classic, but just 33 seconds off the first place team. Sophomore Derrick Williams (Columbia Falls, Mont.) ran the top time in the 5K event (15:02.6) and earned USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Athlete of the Week recognition.
