Pack places third at 5.8K Rocky Mountain Shootout

BOULDER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Sept. 29, 2013) - Led by a stellar times from Bailey Hughes and Jordan Mathes, CSU-Pueblo finished third among non-Division I teams at the University of Colorado Rocky Mountain Shootout Saturday.

Mathes and Hughes recorded the second- and third-best 5.8K times in school history with times of 22:53 and 22:54 to finish 18th and 21st, respectively.  Among non-Division I runners, Mathes' time was good enough for fourth while Hughes was sixth, helping to lift the Pack's team score.

Taylor Bond also turned in a top 20 finish among non-Division I runners with a 25:44 time, which was the eighth-best 5.8K time in school history.

The ThunderWolves will take a week off before heading to Kansas for its first race of the season at lower elevation, running in the Fort Hays Invite in Hays, Kan.
