Pack turns in high individual finishes at CC Invite

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ( - Sept. 21, 2013) - Led by top five finishes from Bailey Hughes and Jordan Mathes, CSU-Pueblo finished fifth as a team at the Colorado College Invitational Saturday.

Hughes and Mathes turned in the fifth and sixth-best 6K times in school history at 23:30 and 23:33, respectively, as Hughes finished fourth and Mathes finished fifth.

Freshman Taylor Bond finished 27th with a 25:29 mark, but no other ThunderWolves finished in the top 30.

"I thought we had a productive day and moved forward as a program," CSU-Pueblo head cross country coach Matt Morris said. "I have to keep reminding myself that we are very young and inexperienced, and before today nobody had run a 6K race.  Overall I was very happy with both the efforts and outcomes."

CSU-Pueblo will travel to Boulder for the 5.8K Rocky Mountain Shootout next Saturday.
