WAYNE, Neb. – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's cross country team competed at the Northwest Regional Cross Country Championship Saturday afternoon at the campus of Wayne State University.
Lauren Dunsmoor finished the 6 k course in 22:51 to place 23rd overall. Sarah Lile came in with a time of 34:29 and finished 90th. CSU-Pueblo placed 20th overall in the 24-team field.
Western State's Ester Komen and Agnes Kroneraff finished the race first and second, respectively. Komen, who also won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference meet last month in Pueblo, finished with a time of 20:58, 10 seconds in front of Kroneraff. Shannon Payne of UCCS took third.
The Mountaineers edged out RMAC-rival Adams State for the team crown. The Grizzles top four runners finishers placed fourth through seventh. UCCS took third place
Kristen Heinl charted a time of 26:52 for the Pack followed by Ashley Samek in 29:53 and Elizabeth Grossman, 34:29. This is the final race of the 2006 season for the ThunderWolves.
