KEARNEY, Neb. - The CSU-Pueblo women's cross country team took part in its last meet of the season Saturday at the North Central Regionals, held in Kearney, Neb.
The ThunderWolves were led by Lindsey Herrera (Sr., Pueblo West, Colo.), who, in her final meet of her career, ran the 6K race in 25:56, 120th out of 156 runners. Finishing right behind her was teammate and sister Michele Herrera (Fr., Pueblo West, Colo.), who came in just a second behind.
As a team, the ThunderWolves finished 23rd.
The track presented some conditions, as the start of the race was postponed by 30 minutes due to frost on the course, but the Pack perservered, coach Chad Perry said.
"We ran well and gained some good experience on a tough course," Perry said. "I'm proud of our performance and the improvements we continue to make."
