DENVER, Colo. (September 22, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball could not upset No. 23 Regis University Saturday as the Rangers swept the Pack (21-25, 19-25, 16-25) at the Regis Fieldhouse.
Berkley Hays (Fr., Dallas, Texas) led the Pack with nine kills. Hays hit a match-high .615. She also added two blocks. The .615 hitting percentage was the highest of Hays' young career.
Page Heller (Jr., Vancouver, Wash.) recorded a match-high 18 digs. Heller averaged 5.83 digs for the weekend with 35 digs in six sets.
Grace Hern (Fr., Omaha, Neb.) notched 18 assists and five digs in two sets of work. Hern also knocked down two kills.
A 6-0 run put the Rangers ahead 9-3 in the first set. The Pack could not get closer than three as the Rangers pulled away with a 25-21 win in game one.
In set two, the Rangers rushed out to a 7-1 lead. A 5-1 run rallied the Pack back with three at 21-18. However, the Rangers scored four of the last five points to take set two 25-19.
The Pack used a 4-0 run to jump in front 7-3 in set three. The Rangers erased the Pack's lead with a 4-0 run that made it 9-8. Two more four-point swings allowed the Rangers to complete the sweep of the Pack thanks to a 25-16 set win.
The ThunderWolves fell to 4-12 overall. They stand 2-5 in RMAC play. The Rangers improved to 10-5 (6-1 RMAC).
CSU-Pueblo will continue its four-match roadtrip with a visit to Adams State Univeristy Friday Sept. 28. This rivalry match between the Pack and Grizzlies will start at 7 p.m.
