PUEBLO, Colo. (December 12, 2017) – Mikala Morris of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball team received Third Team Academic All-American honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America Tuesday.
Morris (Sr.,Tempe, Ariz.) becomes just the third Academic All-American in program history. She joins Kathy Meehan (1983) and Kacy Griffin (2013) as the only Pack players to accomplish Academic All-American honors.
In the classroom, Morris excels with a 4.0 GPA. Incredibly, she is pursuing three undergraduate degrees in political science, Spanish, and mass communications.
Despite not being selected First Team Academic All-RMAC in 2017, Morris was the only RMAC player named a CoSIDA Academic All-American. She was also the only player named an All-American who is pursuing three undergraduate degrees.
Morris caps her career as a two-time COSIDA Academic All-District selection. In addition to being a COSIDA Academic All-American, Morris was also a First Team Academic All-RMAC honoree in 2015. Morris has been a four-time member of the RMAC's Honor Roll.
On the court, Morris totaled 143 career kills. Defensively she accounted for 114 career digs and 77 total blocks.
