Pack VB looks to end season on high note Friday at Adams

PUEBLO, Colo. (November 9, 2017) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball will take the court for the final time in 2017 Friday night when the Pack travels to Alamosa, Colo. to play Adams State University at 7 p.m. in the ThunderWolves' regular season finale.

CSU-Pueblo will attempt to send its 2017 senior class out on a high note. Caitlin Broadwell (Lawrence, Kan.), Misha McDowell (Gilbert, Ariz.), Elena Michalski (Longmont, Colo.), and Mikala Morris (Tempe, Ariz.) will all put on a Pack uniform for the last time. CSU-Pueblo will also look to snap a six-match skid. 

McDowell has put down 0.32 aces per set in her first season serving. Her average stands as the fifth highest single-season acing clip in Pack history (rally scoring era). Her 26 total aces puts her in a tie for seventh-most in a single-season. 

Broadwell currently holds the sixth-highest single-season kills per set average of the rally scoring era with 3.53 kills per set. Broadwell's 2.96 kills per set for her career stands eighth most all-time. The Pack's leader in kills sits 10th all time with 2,589 career attacks. Her 8.69 attacks per set ranks eighth. 

Michalski sits just outside of the leaderboard in assists with 1,621 career assists and 6.31 assists per set. The Pack's setter has dished out at least 30 assists in each of her last seven matches. She has averaged 11.3 assists per set over that span.

Kills: Broadwell, 3.53 kills/set (seventh in RMAC)

Assists: Michalski 8.90 assists/set (10th in the RMAC)

Scouting Adams State:

Outlook: The Grizzlies bring an 8-9 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record into the weekend stand 12-13 overall. Adams owns seventh place in the RMAC standings holding a one game lead on Black Hills State University and Chadron state College for one of the final two spots in the RMAC Tournament. After back-to-back losses, the Grizzlies need a win  to clinch their spot in the RMAC Tournament. A loss to the rival Pack could spoil the Grizzlies postseason hopes. 

Record:12-13 (8-8 RMAC)

All-time record vs. CSU-Pueblo: 41-38, The Grizzlies have won the last four matches

Last Meeting: Oct. 27,2017 Adams State beat the Pack in four sets. Michalski handed out 41 assists and tallied 10 digs. Brooke Schilling (Fr., Platteville, Colo.)  also earned a double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs in that match.
