COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 1, 2017) – Caitlin Broadwell of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball team added to her trophy collection Wednesday when she was named First Team Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Four more ThunderWolves players received a spot on the RMAC's Academic Honor Roll. Page Heller (So., Vancouver Wash.), Misha McDowell (Sr., Gilbert, Ariz.) Elena Michalski (Sr., Longmont, Colo.), and Mikala Morris (Sr., Tempe, Ariz.) all earned honor roll spots thanks to GPAs above 3.3.
Broadwell (Sr., Lawrence, Kan.) boasts a 3.72 GPA in the classroom. She is nearing her degree in psychology from CSU-Pueblo.
On the court, Broadwell serves as the Pack's captain. She leads CSU-Pueblo with 3.54 kills per set and 297 total kills.
Defensively, Broadwell has delivered a career-best 2.24 digs per set. She has also factored into 33 blocks this season. Her 0.39 blocks per set also stands as a career-high.
Broadwell has also delivered a career-high 12 service aces, more than she had in her first two seasons at CSU-Pueblo combined. She has hit .193 this season.
Broadwell's 3.54 kills per set would tie her for the fifth-highest single-season average in school history. Her 10.71 attacks per set this season also ranks fifth in school history.
With 2.96 kills per set for her career, Broadwell stands seventh in Pack history. She also ranks in the top 10 in attack attempts (10th) and attacks per set (eighth).
Morris holds a 4.0 GPA in three majors. A former First Team Academic All-RMAC and COSIDA Academic All-District selection, Morris will achieve degrees in Mass Communications, Political Science, and Spanish. She is also minoring in Leadership.
Heller has posted a 3.83 GPA in liberal studies and achieved the honor roll in her first year of eligibility. Michalski holds a 3.66 GPA while majoring in business management. McDowell maintains a 3.46 GPA while pursuing her degree in exercise science human performance.
