ThunderWolves hope to haunt Highlands on Halloween night

PUEBLO, Colo. (October 30, 2017) Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball will head to Las Vegas, N.M.  Tuesday night when they play New Mexico Highlands University in a Halloween night showdown at 7 p.m.

ThunderWolves at a Glance:

The ThunderWolves will face a quick turnaround following a five-set battle with Fort Lewis College Saturday night. Despite, the quick turnaround, The Pack has enjoyed some success on Tuesday. CSU-Pueblo is 1-0 on Tuesday this year. They also beat Highlands on a Tuesday last season.

Fans who flocked to Massari Arena Saturday night witnessed several amazing individual performances. Melissa Nichols (Jr., McKinney, Texas) totaled a career-high 26 kills against the Skyhawks, missing the Pack's five-set record by one kill. Nichols hit .451 for the match.

PuaLehua Keola (Jr., Honolulu, Hawaii) finished with a career-high 34 digs. Keola also missed out on the school record by one dig.

Competing for the final time at Massari Arena, Elena  Michalski (Sr., Longmont, Colo.) delivered a career performance. Michalski dished out a career-best 64 assists and completed her 10th double-double of the season with 17 assists.

Assists: Michalski 8.76 assists/set (10th in the RMAC)

Scouting New Mexico Highlands:

Outlook: The Cowgirls enter the weekend in 10th place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings. They hold on to very slim RMAC Tournament hopes, needing to win out and have Black Hills State University lose out. Highlands is the second-most blocked team in the RMAC. Opponents average 2.28 blocks per set against the Cowgirls.

All-time record vs. CSU-Pueblo: 30-42, The ThunderWolves have won the last three meetings

Last Meeting: Nov. 1, 2016, CSU-Pueblo beat Highlands in five sets. Broadwell posted a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs.
