PUEBLO, Colo. (September 21, 2017) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball will look for its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win this weekend as the visit the Mount Rushmore State for a pair of crucial matches. The Pack will visit Black Hills State University Friday Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. and attempt to knock off South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Saturday at 3p.m.

The Pack opened RMAC play with a pair of home losses. They dropped three-set matches to both Colorado Christian University and No. 20 Colorado School of Mines. The Pack showed some promise in their loss to the Orediggers, putting the No. 20 ranked team on the ropes in the third set with a 23-19 lead. CSU-Pueblo also hit a season-high .273 in that match.
Caitlin Broadwell (Sr., Lawrence, Kan.) ranks third in the RMAC with 4.00 kills per set. Broadwell knocked down a match-high 16 kills against the Orediggers.
Freshman Mallorie Post (Federal Way, Wash.) had an impressive showing off the bench. Post had four kills and two blocks in one set off the bench in the loss to Mines.

Outlook: The Yellow Jackets began RMAC play with a 1-1 week. They won a five-set struggle against Fort Lewis College, but fell in five sets to Adams State University. Black Hills State has a strong defense with 16.45 digs/set (third in the RMAC) and 1.95 blocks per set (fourth in the RMAC).
