Pack's division title hopes take a hit

ThunderWolves drop match to Adams State in four, trail first place by one game with two remaining.

ALAMOSA, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 29, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo saw its RMAC Western Division title hopes take a hit Saturday, losing in four sets to Adams State, 25-18, 23-25, 25-15, 25-17.

The loss puts the Pack a game behind Adams State in the RMAC Western Division standings, but it also gives the Grizzlies the season sweep over the ThunderWolves and a tiebreaker over the Pack, in essence leaving CSU-Pueblo two games behind Adams State with two games remaining.

CSU-Pueblo was plagued by 34 errors on the night, hitting just .046 as Adams State recorded 11 team blocks on the night.  The Pack's top hitters, Alea Wildman (Sr., Denver, Colo.) and Bernadette Pitre (Sr., Clifton, Colo.) were both shut down, hitting just .000 and -.030 in the match, respectively.

CSU-Pueblo will close its regular season next weekend with road trips to Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands, its match with Western New Mexico possibly determining who will host a first-round playoff game in the RMAC Tournament.
