COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 18, 2017) - Junior Samantha Cachutt (Caracas, Miranda) earned All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference First Team honors for her singles play this season, as the league office announced its annual awards Tuesday. Cachutt and doubles partner Kristin Jensen (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) were recognized as All-RMAC Honorable Mention.
Cachutt played No. 3, 4 and 5 singles throughout the RMAC season and finished with a 2-4 record. She recorded wins at No. 5 singles against Colorado Christian University (March 11) and at No. 4 singles at Colorado Mesa University (April 15).
The pair of Cachutt and Jensen recorded a 2-4 league record playing at both the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. The team recorded the two wins on the same day when they went 2-0 at No. 3 doubles at CCU and MSU Denver April 9.
Cachutt also earned honorable mention recognition in doubles play last season, while Jensen was honorable mention in 2015.
The ThunderWolves finished the conference season 0-6 and are 3-15 overall heading to the RMAC Tournament April 22. The Pack will play host and RMAC Champion Metro State University of Denver at 8 a.m. at the Regency Athletic Complex.
