PHOENIX, Ariz. - Facing brutally tough competition, a green CSU-Pueblo women's tennis team got a baptism by fire this weekend when it took on two top 10 teams at the Paseo Racquet Club in Phoenix.

The ThunderWolves failed to win a match against the tough competition, but made some headway in a number of matches as a number of the Pack's players looked to gather experience against some of the best.

Against No. 2 BYU-Hawaii, the Pack saw two of the nation's top-10 ranked singles players in Elwen Li (No. 4) and Jenny Chin (No. 10), which also combine to form the nation's top-ranked doubles combo.  Julie Wainwright (Sr., Aurora, Colo.) managed to take two games from Li in singles competition, and Morgan Forsyth (Fr., Denver, Colo.) won one game against Chin at the No. 3 singles slot.

The Phoenix trip will resonate in the Pack's minds until March 1, when it returns home to host Winona State (MN) at the Pueblo City Park tennis complex.
