Pack Swimming & Diving returns in road dual at New Mexico State

PUEBLO, Colo. (January 12, 2018 ) – After over a month away from competition, Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving will finally return to the pool Saturday Jan. 13 when the Pack faces Division- I foe New Mexico State University at 11:30 a.m. at the NM State Swimming & Diving Complex.

The Pack brings a 1-5 dual record into Saturday's meet. This will be the Pack's third trip to Las Cruces, N.M.  The Aggies beat the Pack 92-75 in 2014 and 187-99  last season.

Phoebe Pontious (So., Caledonia, Mich.) leads the Pack with four event wins in 2017-18. Pontious was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week Oct. 25 for the second time in her career. Pontious holds the CSU-Pueblo record in the 50 Free (24.80) and the 100 Free (53.68).

Kortney Spencer (So., Pueblo, Colo.) has won three events in diving this season. She took fourth on both the one meter and three meter boards in the Pack's most recent dual at Colorado College.

Arianna Rohde (Jr., Anchorage, Alaska) earned two wins during the fall semester. Rohde has also placed in the top 5 seven times this season. She holds the Pack's record in both the 100 back (59.19) and 200 back (2:08.98).

Jade Irick (Jr.,Idaho Fall, Idaho)  took second in the 100 back with a time of 1:03.86 in the Pack's dual with the Tigers. Irick also guided the Pack to a win in the 200 free relay with Pontious, Olivia Cauley (R-So., Pueblo, Colo.) and Taylor Wertz (Sr., Lamar, Colo.)  She has five top-3 finishes so far this season.
