COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (October 25, 2017) – Phoebe Pontious of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving team garnered Swimmer of the Week honors from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wednesday.
Thanks to two strong weeks to start the season, Pontious ((So., Caledonia, Mich.) received her second career RMAC Swimmer of the Week Award. She took home the honor for the first time as a freshman on Jan. 11, 2017.
In her meet of the season, Pontious sprinted her way to a pair of victories against Western State Colorado University Oct. 13. She recorded a time of 55.41 in the 100 free and a time of 25.21 in the 50 free, the third fastest in school history. Pontious also helped the Pack's 200 medley relay team to a second-place finish. Pontious' relay points made her the ThunderWolves top individual scorer in their 133-90 loss to the Mountaineers.
At the Air Force Duals, Pontious helped CSU-Pueblo swim the fourth fastest time in program history in the 200 medley relay, 1:53.52. Individually, she placed fifth in the 100 free (55.74) and sixth in the 50 free (25.31).
Pontious will hope to lead the Pack to its first win of the season when they host Adams State University Friday Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. in the Sam Jones Aquatic Center. The Pack has defeated the Grizzlies in each of the last two seasons.

As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics
