PUEBLO, Colo. (February 16, 2015) – Colorado State University-Pueblo's freshman duo of Samantha Sannes' (Torrance, Calif.) and April McDonough (Frisco, Texas) both earned inclusion on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving All-Conference Team following the conclusion of the last weekend's swimming and diving championships.
Sannes collected a spot on the first team in the 1650 freestyle after placing second in the event Saturday. The freshman's second-place mark was the highest finish of the championships for the Pack. Sannes recorded an NCAA B cut time, touching the wall in an altitude-adjusted mark of 17:12.48. The Torrance, Calif., native's time is the 18th fastest clocking in Division II this season in the 1650 freestyle. It was Sannes' third NCAA B cut time at the championships.
McDonough landed on the second team in the 500 freestyle. The freshman highlighted day three of the championships for CSU-Pueblo, recording a NCAA B cut time of 5:05.42 in the 500 free. McDonough's mark smashed her previous season-best time and landed her in fourth place in the A final.
The ThunderWolves concluded their first appearance in the championships in seventh place with a team total of 184 points. The Pack recorded five NCAA B cut times and numerous swimmers notched lifetime best marks.
