PUEBLO, Colo. (December 12, 2014) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo swimming and diving team closed the home portion of its 2014-15 schedule Friday versus Colorado College, falling to the visiting Tigers, 165-108, at Pueblo County High School.
The ThunderWolves finished the meet with eight event victories. Samantha Sannes (Fr., Torrance, Calif.) led CSU-Pueblo with three wins, pushing her season total to nine. April McDonough (Fr., Frisco, Texas) picked up two victories, giving her a team-best 10 event wins on the season. Emily Foster (Jr., Santa Barbara, Calif.) and Sydney Anderson (Fr., Garden Grove, Calif.) both added one win apiece giving each swimmer two overall wins this year.
Sannes claimed wins in the 1000 free (11:09.33), 500 free (5:27.77) and 200 IM (2:19.95). McDonough touched the wall first in the 200 free (2:04.31) and 100 free (56.07), while also adding a second-place finish in the 50 free (26.00).
Foster bested the competition in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.68), while Anderson tallied a win in the 200 backstroke (2:18.82). Foster and Anderson also recorded second-place finishes in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.70) and 100 backstroke (1:03.67), respectively.
The Pack will take a three-week break over the Christmas holiday, before returning to the pool Jan. 3 at the Citrus Classic in Mesa, Ariz.
