DENVER, Colo. (September 16, 2018) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team dropped its second consecutive match to begin RMAC play Sunday against MSU Denver, falling 2-0 to the Roadrunners at Regency Athletic Complex.
MSUD's Reigna Banks scored both goals in the victory for the home team.
The Roadrunners scored the game's first goal after earning a corner kick five minutes into the match.
CSU-Pueblo got its first shot after 10:10 had expired off the foot of Laikyn Koss (Sr., Riverside, Calif.). Koss fired the first three shots by the Pack and had a game-high seven shots.
Michelle Moure (Sr., Peyton, Colo.) hit the first ball directly at Roadrunner goalkeeper Erica Torres who made her first of eight saves.
MSUD extended the lead in the 35' when Banks again hit on a cross in from the left and finished from 18 yards out.
At halftime, the ThunderWolves had five shots.
In period two, the Pack applied pressure and attacked the net with eleven shots at the net.
Five minutes into the half, CSU-Pueblo hit three shots and earned a corner kick within a two-minute span. All three shots caused MSUD goalkeeper to make quick saves in front of the net.
Koss shot attempt in the 54' hit the crossbar.
With time winding down Justine Martinez (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) fired her first shot on goal with three minutes left in regulation.
Pack goalkeeper Rylie Martin (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) made six saves and faced fourteen shots.
CSU-Pueblo (3-2-1, 0-2-0 RMAC) returns home for two RMAC matches. Friday the Pack welcome Colorado Mines at 7 p.m. and Sunday will play Colorado Christian in a matinee at 2:30 p.m. at Gonzales Stadium.
