DURANGO, Colo. (May 8, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo junior Courtney Ewing (Pueblo West, Colo.) overcame an early crooked number in the second round of the NCAA West Region Championships Tuesday to post a 79 and sit T-12th with the final round set for Wednesday.
Ewing is 11-over for the Championships (76-79--155) with her final 18 holes at Hillcrest Golf Club in Durango, Colorado scheduled for 10:20 a.m. tomorrow. She has played the Par 5's two-under through 36 holes to rank tied for first in the field of 66 players.
Starting on hole 10, she scored par on the first two holes, but took a triple bogey six on the Par 3 12th. The junior played the final 15 holes four over with a pair of birdies on the Par 4 14th and the 453-yard Par 5 4th. She would bogey two of her last three holes to finish with the seven-over 79.
The top three individuals outside the top three teams advance to the NCAA Division II Championships. With one round left, there are 11 players ahead or tied with Ewing outside the top three teams.
