COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 28, 2017) – For the second consecutive week, Courtney Ewing of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Golf team reigns as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.
Ewing (Jr., Pueblo West, Colo.) earned her third Top-5 finish in four tournaments this season. She impressed this week as she wound up tied for fourth at the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate.
On day one of the tournament, Ewing shot an even par 72, her second-best score of the year. She followed it up with a +3 to finish with a combined score of 147. The Pack's co-captain native was the top individual RMAC finisher at the event, which included Colorado Mesa, Regis, MSU Denver, Westminster, and Fort Lewis. She was -2 on par five holes throughout the tournament.
This performance occurred one week after Ewing carded an even par (144) at the NCAA West Regional Preview to claim second place and her first RMAC Women's Golfer of the Week Award of the season. These are the first two RMAC Golfer of the Week honors of Ewing's career.
Ewing becomes the first Pack golfer to receive this honor in back-to-back weeks since Leina Kim earned three consecutive RMAC Golfer of the Week awards Sept. 11-25, 2014. Thanks to Ewing's fourth place finish, the Pack took fifth at the WNMU Fall Intercollegiate.
With a 72.75 stroke average over her last four rounds, Ewing has been playing some of the best golf of her career. She will look to end her fall campaign on a high note when she and the rest of the Pack compete at the West Texas A&M Invite Oct. 2-3. This event will be held at the La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas.
