PUEBLO, Colo. (September 4, 2017) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Golf hold second place after their first round of the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational at the Pueblo Country Club.
As a team, the Pack shot a +16 (304). They sit just three strokes back of University of Colorado Colorado Springs for the tournament lead.
Courtney Ewing (Jr., Pueblo West, Colo.) continued her historically strong play at the Pueblo Country Club. After placing third at the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invite last year, Ewing carded a +2 (74) to lead the Pack and place fourth after day one. She will begin day two just one stroke back of the lead.
Newcomer, Orakorn Thirayatorn (Jr., Meang Khonkaen, Thailand ), shot a +3 (75) in her first round with the Pack. Thirayatorn sits in a tie for eighth heading into day two.
Two-time All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection, Jolene Kam (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia) holds onto 10th place. Kam shot a +4 (76) on day one.
Competing in her first collegiate tournament, freshman Kellsey Sample (Monument, Colo.) came through with a +7 (79).Sample sits 16th after day one.
Rachanok Rahulpan (Pathumthani, Thailand) completed the Pack's starting five with a +8 (80). Rahulpan ranks 17th heading into day two.
CSU-Pueblo Women's Golf will concluded play in the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Pueblo Country Club..
