Pack cuts strokes but still falls short
ALAMOSA, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo's women's golf team showed great improvement from a dismal first round, cutting 24 strokes from its first round total, but still brought up the rear at the first RMAC Tournament of the season.
The ThunderWolves shot a team total of 379 Monday, the worst team total in the field, but scaled that back to a 355 Tuesday, the 7th-best mark.
The Pack was led by Rachel Means (Fr., Florence, Colo.), who was strong in her first collegiate action, finishing 12th in the 49-member field, shooting a stellar 79 in the second round, the second-lowest second-round total in the field.
CSU-Pueblo will look to put in a strong performance on their own turf in their next tournament, the CSU-Pueblo Invitational, the RMAC's second tournament of the season, starting next Monday.
