PUEBLO, Colo. (February 21, 2018) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball moved up one spot in the NCAA D-II South Central Region rankings. The Pack is now the No.3 team in the region heading into the final week of the regular season.
An early predictor of the Pack's seed in the NCAA Tournament, the regional rankings indicate where the Pack would be seeded if the season ended today. CSU-Pueblo clinched their second consecutive outright Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship with a win over Colorado Christian University Saturday.
The ThunderWolves lead the RMAC with an 18-2 conference record. CSU-Pueblo stands 20-6 overall. They are receiving votes in both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and D-II Sports Information Directors of America polls.
After their win over the Cougars, the Pack has clinched home court advantage throughout the RMAC Tournament. They have now won four RMAC Championships overall, and three outright RMAC Regular Season Championships.
CSU-Pueblo vaulted Angelo State University into the No. 3 seed in the South Central Region Rankings. The ThunderWolves trail only No. 2 Lubbock Christian University (24-1) and No. 20/25 West Texas A&M University (22-4). Both the Chaps and Lady Buffs beat the Pack early in the season when the Pack was without junior Lauren Heyn (Penryn, Calif.).
The Pack has won nine consecutive games. They will look to close out their regular season with a pair of wins when they host Colorado Mesa University Friday and Western State Colorado University Saturday in senior night. Both games start at 5:30 p.m.
