PUEBLO, Colo. (November 30, 2016) – The No. 12 ranked Colorado State University-Pueblo women's basketball team added two players to their 2017-18 roster during the NLI early signing period. Incoming freshman Hannah Aucoin and Kaylee Stevens are the first two names in Head Coach Jim Turgeon's second full recruiting class.
Aucoin has played varsity for four seasons at Flower Mound (Texas) High School. Standing at 6-1, Aucoin earned the Jaguars Most Improved Player Award in 2014. She also claimed Jammin' Jag honors each of the last three seasons. Aucoin holds a 3.71 GPA in high school.
"Hannah is a forward/center that fits in perfectly into how we try to play," Turgeon said. "She can play facing the basket or with her back to the basket."
Stevens comes to the Pack from Rejoice Christian High School. She earned First Team All-Pinnacle Conference in 2015-16. Stevens claimed Honorable Mention All-Tulsa- World honors as a junior. She scores 12 points per game. The Owasso Okla. native averages four rebounds, four steals, and six assists per game as the point guard for the Eagles. Stevens has a 3.8 high school GPA.
"Kaylee is a hard-nosed point guard with good leadership skills," Turgeon said. "She is just a winner."
Turgeon has led the Pack to a 32-6 record as he continues his second season as head coach. He became the first coach to lead the Pack to a 6-0 since Jessie Banks in 1975-76.
"With the signing of Kaylee and Hannah we addressed some specific needs that we are going to have with the graduation of this year's senior class," Turgeon said.
