GOLDEN, Colo. (May 15, 2017) - A select group from the Colorado State University-Pueblo men's and women's track and field programs competed at the Colorado School of Mines Last Chance Meet Friday and Sunday in Golden, Colorado. Freshmen Lauren Fairchild (McKinney, Texas) and Paul Roberts (Boulder, Colo.) recorded NCAA provisional marks to highlight the Pack
Fairchild posted a personal best leap of 5.84m in the long jump and finished the season ranked 41st in NCAA Division II. She continued to get better in the event this season and finished with the best mark on the team, which was also good for the third longest jump in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this season.
Roberts ran the 5000m run Friday in hopes of improving his time and qualify for the national meet, but he fell just short with a mark of 15:04.62. His top time this season of 14:49.87 was coverted to 14:27.16 to rank 31st nationally.
Freshman Gillian Maness (Kalispell, Mont.) ran the women's 5000m run Friday to a personal best time of 18:50.57.
For the men, sophomore Zach Retzlaff (Pueblo West, Colo.) posted a season-best time of 1:56.70 in the 800m run Sunday.
Selections for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships will be announced Tuesday.
