Clanton honored as RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 14, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo junior Tatianna Clanton (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was honored as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week, in a Tuesday release from the league office.

The conference weekly recognition is the first in Clanton's career and she is the first field athlete from the Pack to earn the honor during the indoor season since Holli Salazar claimed the award on Jan. 18, 2012.

At the Pittsburg State Gorillas Classic, Clanton recorded an NCAA provisional mark in the long jump. Her leap of 5.62m was good for sixth in the event, just shy of her PR this season of 5.90 that ranks ninth nationally. She also competed in the triple jump, 200m and 400m events the meet.

The final tune-up for the RMAC Championships (Feb. 24-25) for Clanton and the ThunderWolves is the Joe Davies Invitational at the Steinhauer Fieldhouse in Golden, Colorado.
