ThunderWolves open season at Dixie State Tournament

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 7, 2018) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo softball team open its 2018 campaign this week, playing five games while at the Dixie State Tournament in St. George, Utah.

The ThunderWolves take to the diamond Thursday against Montana State-Billings at 10 a.m. in the season opener and plays Western New Mexico at 3 p.m.

Friday, the Pack faces tournament-host Dixie State at 3 p.m. before battling Western Washington at 5:30 p.m. On Saturday, the final day of the tourney, CSU-Pueblo takes on Northwest Nazarene at 12:30 p.m.

The ThunderWolves return several key returners to this year's team led by seniors K'Lee Kent (Hobbs, NM) and Alyssa Ubrun (Olympia, Wash.).

New additions Hannah Anderson (So., Spokane, Wash.) and Marissa Piatt (Fr., San Luis Obispo, Calif.) will seek to make an immediate impact.

Michaela Burpee (Jr., Union City, Calif.), Sabrina Felix (So., Corona, Calif.), and Gabby Moreno (So., Scottsdale, Ariz.) also are back and will look to guide the Pack offensively.

The Pack open at home Friday, Feb. 16 against Colorado Christian in a nonconference doubleheader scheduled to be played at Runyon Sports Complex, first pitch is set for 1 p.m.
