COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 3, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo softball senior Lexie Martindale (DP, Pueblo, Colo.) was named to All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Second Team and teammate Gabby Moreno (Fr., 3B, Scottsdale, Ariz.) was named Honorable Mention announced Wednesday by league officials.
Martindale finished her senior campaign posting nine multi-hit games including eight two-hit games and one four-hit contest for CSU-Pueblo. She broke an RMAC and school record by hitting four doubles in a game Apr. 23 vs. Fort Lewis.
Martindale recorded the Pack's only 5-RBI game en route to finishing the season with six multi-RBI games. Martindale ended the year batting .291 with four homeruns, nine doubles and twenty-eight runs batted in.
In the circle Martindale went 13-11, tossing 125.0 innings and allowed 80 earned runs and struck out 75 batters. She finished fifth in the RMAC in wins, tenth in innings pitched, and sixth in the league in strikeouts.
Moreno her first postseason accolade after finishing her freshman campaign batting .361 at the plate. She led the ThunderWolves in runs (32) and walks (18) and finished tied for the team lead in hits (52).
She ended the year with 11 doubles, five homeruns and 28 RBIs recorded.
The ThunderWolves finished the season 19-29 overall and 16-24 in RMAC play.
