Burpee earns First Team All-Academic; five others named to honor roll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 20, 2017) - Colorado State University-Pueblo sophomore Michaela Burpee (Union City, Calif.) was selected to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team announced by league officials.

Burpee is one of six members of the Pack to be honored.

Burpee boasts a 3.90 GPA and is majoring in Sociology/Criminology. She leads the ThunderWolves in homeruns with ten and has collected a team high 29 runs batted in.

Her homerun total places her 14th in all of Division II.

Defensively Burpee has thrown out nine would-be base stealers, third most in the RMAC.

Colorado Mesa's McKenzie Surface was named Academic Player of the Year as she holds a 3.90 majoring in Psychology.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters (RMAC Manual 3.4.2).

As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
