PUEBLO, Colo. (April 9, 2017) – Colorado State University-Pueblo softball dropped a pair of games Sunday against Colorado School of Mines falling 4-2 and 3-0 at Rawlings Softball Complex.
The Pack managed just seven hits on the day. K'Lee Kent (Jr., P, Hobbs, NM) collected two hits and an RBI at the plate and tossed 5.2 innings in the circle and allowed four runs on eleven hits.
In the first game CSU-Pueblo scored its first run on a Kent double in the first inning to score Gabby Moreno (Fr., 3B, Scottsdale, Ariz.) and put the Pack up 1-0.
Colorado Mines evened the score on two hits in the second frame.
The score remained tied until the fifth inning when Mines scored one run on two hits and added two more runs in the sixth inning.
The Pack cut into the lead with a single run in their half of the sixth inning and scored as a result of a wild pitch.
CSU-Pueblo was retired in order in the seventh to finish 4-2.
Kent was tabbed with the loss falling to 3-8 on the season. She finished with four strikeouts and two earned runs allowed.
In the series finale Mines scored single runs in each of the second through fourth innings and come away with a 3-0 victory.
The Pack managed two singles in the game and had several loud outs that were hit directly at the Mines defense.
Lexie Martindale (Sr., DP, Pueblo, Colo.) was hit with the loss and drops to 9-9 on the year. She fanned five hitters and allowed three runs.
Sabrina Felix (Fr., OF, Corona, Calif.) went 5-for-13 at the plate in four games to guide the ThunderWolves.
CSU-Pueblo (14-22, 11-17 RMAC) hits the road for a four-game RMAC series at New Mexico Highlands beginning Saturday in Las Vegas, NM.
