COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (April 11, 2018) - Freshman Thomas Pudney (Southend, United Kingdom) was recognized as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season, released by the league office Wednesday.
The freshman also gathered the award Feb. 14 and Feb. 28.
In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division II rankings, Pudney moved up a spot to No. 14 nationally, as the ThunderWolves dropped to No. 49 in team rankings.
Pudney finished 2-0 in an 8-1 RMAC victory at Colorado Christian University Saturday. At No. 1 singles, the freshman won 6-4 and 6-1. Playing with Ogulcan Deniz (Jr., Istanbul, Turkey) at No. 1 doubles, the pair posted an 8-6 victory.
Both CSU-Pueblo tennis teams will travel to Metro State University of Denver April 13 for a rescheduled RMAC match from Friday, then jump on I-70 to battle Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado for the final regular season and RMAC match of 2018. Both matches are slated for a 10 a.m. start.
