PUEBLO, Colo. (March 8, 2018) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo tennis teams will be home at Pueblo City Park all weekend March 9-11 with a match each day. The ThunderWolves open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Friday against Colorado Christian University beginning at 9 a.m.
The Pack battles CCU Friday to open league play. A nonconference dual against Colorado College is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. Finally, Sunday will see a RMAC bout with MSU Denver beginning at 10 a.m. All matches will be played at Pueblo City Park.
The ThunderWolves men are 6-10 overall, but have lost seven matches this spring (four against NCAA Division I teams). Freshman Thomas Pudney (Southend, United Kingdom) leads the team with a 9-5 record in dual singles competition. There are three other student-athlets that own five wins in singles play. The doubles pair of Steven Alcala (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) and Cade Boedeker (Fr., Keller, Texas) are 8-4 in dual competition while playing at the No. 3 spot.
The Pack women will be looking for their first win of the season, as their record stands at 0-11. The weekend starts a five-game homestand for the women. The team has eight of their next nine matches at home. The team has found more success at doubles this season, as three players have four or more wins in the category. Freshman Kali Hamilton (Grapevine, Texas) leads with five doubles victories, as she has played with three different partners at No. 1 and No. 2.
