COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (February 14, 2018) - Freshman Thomas Pudney (Southend, United Kingdom) has earned the first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week award of 2018, in an announcement from the league office Wednesday.
Playing at No. 1 singles and with the top doubles team, Pudney went 2-5 against Division I opponents for the ThunderWolves, who went 0-3 against Northern Colorado and in two matches with the Air Force Academy. He finished 2-1 in singles play with a win against his Northern Colorado opponent, 6-3, 0-6, 6-4. He defeated a member of the Air Force in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (4). The freshman, who ranks 35th nationally, went 0-3 at No. 1 doubles, but helped push both UNC and USAFA to a tiebreak.
The ThunderWolves men and women will host the University of Colorado Club Team Saturday at the Pueblo Tennis Center beginning at 3:30 p.m.
