DENVER (April 23, 2017) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's tennis team lost to Colorado Mesa University Saturday to close the season at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted by Metro State University of Denver at the Regency Athletic Complex.
The Pack lost 5-0 to the Mavericks. The No. 1 and No. 3 doubles teams lost 8-6, while No. 2 doubles pair of James Ryan (Jr., London, England) and Dante Alcala (So., Pueblo, Colo.) forced extra tennis, but fell 9-8 (8-6). CMU clinched the 5-0 win with wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles.
The ThunderWolves finished the season 7-14 overall and went 2-4 in RMAC play. Four players earned All-RMAC honors. Freshman Nick Wade (Upminister Essex, United Kingdom) was named All-RMAC Second Team singles and joined doubles partner David Mould (Jr., Upminister Essex, United Kingdom) as second team doubles. The tandem of Ryan and Alcala were also named second team doubles.
