LAKEWOOD, Colo. (October 5, 2018) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team came away with its second RMAC win of the season Friday after defeating Colorado Christian University 3-2 at Trail Blazer Stadium in Lakewood, Colo.
For the game, CSU-Pueblo had its second highest shot total with 18 and six on goal.
In the first half the Pack led 8-4 in shots and had four on goal.
Colorado Christian scored the game's first goal 1:46 into the match and was quickly responded with a goal from the Pack in the 14' on a through pass by Tinta on the right side in to Sikes who shot from ten yards out.
Almost ten minutes later, Lewis Chambers (So., Bournemouth, UK) drove inside the box and a blocked shot was hauled in by Tinta who controlled the ball and hit a one-timer past the goalkeeper and the one-goal lead.
At halftime, CCU led 2-1 in corner kicks.
In the second period the Cougars tied the game in the 60' on back-and-forth passing and a shot from 12 yards away evened the score at 2-2.
The ThunderWolves got the go-ahead goal in the 75' when Jones controlled the ball at the top of the box and blasted the ball in to the back of the net.
Over the final fifteen minutes of regulation, the ThunderWolves defense allowed the Cougars two more shots that sailed high of the post to secure the 3-2 victory.
Tinta led the game with his four shots.
Pack goalkeeper Tyler Harvey (Jr., Henderson, Nev.) allowed two goals and faced seven shots in the match.
CSU-Pueblo (5-5-1, 2-4-1 RMAC) wraps the road trip Sunday at MSU Denver. Kickoff is set for 1 PM at Regency Athletic Complex.
