CSU-Pueblo concludes nonconference play at home versus DBU and UTPB; ranks 9th in region

United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll - Sept. 4

PUEBLO, Colo. (September 5, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer will wrap its nonconference schedule at home this week with matches against Dallas Baptist and Texas Permian-Basin scheduled at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The ThunderWolves enter the second week of the young season sitting ninth in the first United Soccer Coaches' South Central Regional Poll released Tuesday.

During opening weekend, the Pack scored a 1-0 win in the season opener at home against Newman. Santiago Tinta (Sr., Quito, Ecuador) scored on a free kick to lead the Pack.

In their first road match of the season at West Texas, the Buffs had all of their goals scored by Julio Vargas. The ThunderWolves scored the first goal on a header goal off of Harrison Sikes (Sr., Moore, Okla.). WT evened the match before halftime and took its first lead in the 64'. 

The Buffs got their third goal in the 82' to seal the win.

In Sight for the Pack

The ThunderWolves go on the road for one match and begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Sept. 14 at Adams State. They return home Sunday for their RMAC home opener against Colorado Mesa.
