CSU-Pueblo soccer announce schedule and promotional days

PUEBLO, Colo. (August 13, 2018) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's and women soccer teams announced their schedules for the upcoming season, along with several promotional opportunites for fans to come and watch the Pack in action at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The women's team kickoff the preseason at home August 18 versus Otero Junior College at 7 p.m. and will play two additional exhibition matches on the road at University of New Mexico (Aug. 14) and at FC Boulder (Aug. 26).

The men's team open their campaign Monday, August 20 at home against Johnson & Wales University, kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at ALG Stadium.

On Wednesday August 22, the men will play their second exhibition match at home against conference-foe Adams State at 7 p.m. The men's team preseason concludes Aug. 25 at Air Force Academy.

The men's nonconference schedule begins at home Aug. 31 against Newman (KS) at 7 p.m., while the women's team will head to the Lone Star State and begin their regular season at West Texas A&M (Sept. 1) and at Lubbock Christian (Sept. 3). 

The Pack men will take their talents on the road Sept. 3 at West Texas A&M before returning home the following week for a pair of nonconference matches against Dallas Baptist (Sept. 6) and Texas Permian-Basin (Sept. 8).

The women return home in week two and open their home schedule against Midwestern State (Sept. 7) and Fort Hays State (Sept. 9).

At halftime of the Midwestern State match, CSU-Pueblo Athletics will honor all of the student-athletes that have earned a 3.0 or higher Grade-Point Average during the spring 2018 semester.

Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play opens Sept. 14 for both teams and fans will have four dates to where they can watch both teams in action on the same day.

The first of four doubleheaders will take place Sept. 21 when both squads take on Colorado School of Mines. The men kickoff at 4:30 p.m. at the women's game to follow at 7 p.m.

On Sept. 23, another twin bill will take place at ALG with the men taking on South Dakota Mines at 12 p.m. and the women playing versus Colorado Christian at 2:30 p.m.

The weekend of October 12 & 14 another set of doubleheaders will take place at the pitch. This time the women's team will take to the field at 4:30 against Western State before the men's team plays UCCS at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14 the women play Colorado Mesa at noon, while the men's team host Regis at 2:30 p.m.

The women's team will celebrate Parent's/Senior Weekend Oct. 19 and Oct. 21 when the Pack takes on Westminster (UT) and new-RMAC member Dixie State.

On the men's side Parent's Weekend will take place Oct. 12 & Oct. 14. The ThunderWolves will honor the seniors on the final day of the regular season Oct. 27 versus Fort Lewis.
