PUEBLO, Colo. (March 10, 2018) – A slow start prevented Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse from overcoming Rockhurst University as the Pack fell to the Hawks 19-10 at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
Blake Foerster (Sr., Centennial, Colo.) led the Pack with six points. Foerster netted three goals. He also dished out three assists.
Taylor Davis (Jr., Littleton, Colo.) totaled four points. Davis scored three goals and handed out an assist.
Rockhurst scored the game's first seven goals. The Hawks held the Pack scoreless in the first quarter to lead 7-0 after one.
The Pack finally ended the Hawks 7-0 run when Davis found the back of the net less than five minutes into the second quarter. Rockhurst responded with another 4-0 run. They led 12-2 at halftime.
CSU-Pueblo kept pace with the Hawks in the second half. The Pack had a 3-0 run with two man-up goals. Unfortunately, that only brought the Pack within 10. Foerster scored the final two goals of the game but the Hawks won 19-10. CSU-Pueblo outscored Rockhurst 5-1in the fourth.
Cole Pauley (Jr., Omaha, Neb.), Wes Taylor (Sr., Verona, Wisc.) Devin Thrower (So., Las Vegas, Nev.) each had three ground balls and a caused turnover. Hunter Thompson (Sr., Greenwood Village, Colo.) also snagged three ground balls for the Pack.
CSU-Pueblo will continue its three-game homestand Monday when they host Maryville University. The opening faceoff between the Pack and Saints is set for 6 p.m.
