COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 9, 2018) - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its annual golf awards Wednesday and in the process recognized Colorado State University-Pueblo men's golf junior Fraser Hughes (Newton Stewart, Scotland) as All-RMAC First Team and senior Neil Tillman (Arvada, Colo.) as All-RMAC Second Team.
The major awards, along with All-RMAC First and Second Teams were determined by the Golfstat rankings following the RMAC Golf Championships. The ThunderWolves qualified for their second straight and 19th overall NCAA Division II Region Championship, which concludes today in Amarillo, Texas.

Hughes recorded a stroke average of 72.15 in his first season with the Pack to rank No. 37 in NCAA Division II. He owned a Golfstat player ranking of No. 108 in Division II. In 10 tournaments, the junior totaled four top 10 finishes, which included sharing the title in his first tournament with the ThunderWolves at the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational. He shot a season-low 66 (-6) in the second round of the home tournament and finished eight-under. Hughes carded 12 under-par rounds with six rounds in the 60's. Hughes finished T-5th at the Southern Colorado Masters after finishing two-under. The tournament before at the Mustang Intercollegiate he put together his lowest three-round score of the season (207) and went nine-under to finish tied for sixth. He tied for eighth at the RMAC Fall Preview at even par for the two-round tournament.
The senior gathers his third end-of-the-year award from the league, as he was All-RMAC First Team last season and RMAC Freshman of the Year in 2015. Tillman finished the regular season with a 72.04 stoke average to lead the team and rank No. 32 in NCAA Division II. He shot a career-low 65 in the final round of the RMAC Championships to finish four-under for the tournament, which was good for medalist honors at T-5th. He had a Golfstat player ranking of No. 127. In 27 rounds, Tillman totaled 92 birdies to tie for the team lead. In his 10 tournaments he totaled three top five finishes this season and placed top 10 on five occasions. In addition to his efforts at the RMAC Championship, Tillman tied for third at the RMAC Fall Preview (-2) and tied for fifth at the Pack's Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational (-2). He totaled 10 under-par rounds.
