Pack set to co-host Southwest Kansas Shootout

NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 9, 2017) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's golf team will co-host the Southwest Kansas Shootout in Garden City, Kansas at Buffalo Dunes Country Club April 10-11. The 54-hole tournament will also be hosted by Dodge City Community College.

Thirteen teams make up the field, including Colorado Mesa University and Colorado School of Mines from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The ThunderWolves rank No. 10 in the first edition of the NCAA South Central Region rankings. The top 10 teams from the South Central and West regions advance to the Super Regional May 8-10 in Stockton, Calif.

The ThunderWolves finished tied for ninth at the Western New Mexico University Mustang Intercollegiate April 3-4. CSU-Pueblo tied with Colorado Christian University and finished tied for third among Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams.

Senior Jacob Allenback (Pueblo, Colo.) knocked off a stroke each round for a 73-72-71--216 to play even for the 54 holes and finish tied for 22nd. He finished with 42 pars, the second most in the field of 104 golfers.

Senior Jake Ice (Tucson, Ariz.) also totaled an even par 216 (69-72-75) to finish tied for 22nd. He led the team with 13 birdies in the tournament.
