Pack Student-Athletes achieved 3.0 GPA in fall 2015

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 10, 2016) Colorado State University-Pueblo Athletics announced that Pack student-athletes achieved a 3.1 cumulative GPA in fall of 2015. In total, 319 student-athletes earned a spot on the Athletic Director's honor roll in fall of 2015 with a GPA at 3.0 or above.

The women's cross country team, coached by Matt Morris, had each of its nine student athletes on the honor roll and posted a department best  3.74 team GPA.  Sydni Riley, Bailey Hughes, Jordan Mathes, and Shelby Sweeney made a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Men's cross country earned the best GPA of any male sport, with nine student athletes on the honor roll and a 3.53 team GPA. Derrick Williams, Ben Vaughn, and Alec Choury made perfect 4.0 GPAs.

The baseball team coached by Stan Sanchez had 25 student-athletes on the honor roll with a 3.05 team GPA.  Thomas Vinci led Pack baseball with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

CSU-Pueblo softball coached by Christie Zinanti had 18 student-athletes on the honor roll with a team GPA of 3.36. Dora Hernandez posted a team-best 3.9 GPA.

Women's basketball coached by Jim Turgeon had 11 student-athletes on the honor roll with a 3.25 team GPA. Riley Cookson and Lauren Heyn recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Men's basketball, coached by Ralph Turner had seven student-athletes on the honor roll. Nelson Kahler led the team with a 3.56 GPA.

Pack cheer and dance coached by Vonnie Taibi had 12 student-athletes on the honor roll. Ursaline Paridiso made a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The five-time reigning RMAC Champion Pack football team, coached by John Wristen had 64 student-athletes on the honor roll with a team GPA of 2.74. Jordan Anderson, Wesley Bennett, Dan List, Jake Ludwick, Kyle Rosenbrock, Quinn Vandekoppel, Zach  Wall made a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Women's Golf, coached by Josh Koschke had three student-athletes on the honor roll with a 3.2 team GPA. Courtney Ewing earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Koschke's men's golf team had five student-athletes on the honor roll with a 2.67 team GPA. Neil Tillman earned a team-best 3.4 GPA

Pack women's lacrosse, coached by Monica Potter had 17 student-athletes on the honor roll with a 3.21 team GPA. Nicole Burkhauser, Shaylyn Grega, Sammi LaBella, and Allison Wurscher made a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Men's lacrosse, coached by Sean Blair, had 12 student-athletes on the honor roll with a 2.62 team GPA. Preston DeHerrera and Tanner Hall had 4.0 GPAs.

Women's soccer coached by Paul Regrutto had 22 student-athletes on the honor roll with a 3.28 team GPA. Tanna Duling, Brianna Garcia, and Nicole Ortega finished with perfect 4.0 GPAs.

CSU-Pueblo Men's soccer coached by Roy Stanley had 21 student-athletes on the honor roll with a 3.0 team GPA. Michael Chism, Zachary Davis, and Colin Kerr all owned a perfect 4.0GPA.

Pack women's tennis coached by Mark Schleif had 5 student-athletes on  the honor roll with a 3.53 team GPA . Mariana Hosomi earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Schleif's men's tennis team had six student-athletes on the honor roll with a 3.06 team GPA. David Mould studied his way to a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Pack Swimming and diving coached by Brian Pearson had 11 student-athletes on the honor roll with a team GPA of 2.85. Arianna Rohde collected a 4.0GPA.

Women's track and field coached by Morris had 17 student athletes on the honor roll with a 3.33 team GPA. Riley, Hughes, Mathes, Sweeney, Makenna Linn, and Erica Wuenschel all achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Morris' men's track and field had 20 student athletes on the honor roll with a 3.14 team GPA. Dueth Vassell joined  Williams, Vaughn, and Choury with 4.0 GPAs.

CSU-Pueblo volleyball guided by Jordan Willis had 12 student athletes on the honor roll with a team GPA of 3.24.  Mikala Morris earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in three majors. Katie Burnett also posted a 4.0.

Pack wrestling coached by Dax Charles had 19 student athletes on the honor roll with a 2.94 team GPA. AJ Salazar led the team with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

All of these honor roll athletes were recognized with a ceremony during the Pack's men's basketball game against University of Colorado Colorado Springs Friday night.
